Make a list, Chex it twice
I love anybody’s Chex mix. But I like choosing what to put in the one I try to make each season. This time oyster crackers came in to my life and pared well with wheat Chex, olive oil, Worchestershire sauce and Cajun seasoning. You know, you can use those guys for croutons on salad. That’s a healthy option, right?

Core
Bamboo bowls, servers, utensils, etc. from Core catalogs are simple and sexy. They look good and they work good and they make you want to entertain. I’m playing with a bamboo vegetable dicer that could be the key to keeping your New Year’s resolutions to eat better. Everyone who has seen this bamboo “knife” can’t believe how well it works. This organically-grown bamboo knows how to work it.

Peruvian super foods
Could this be a Nutella hack?
Manuel Villacorta shares many simple, wonderful-sounding recipes in his new book, “Whole Body Reboot: The Peruvian Super Foods Diet to Detoxify, Energize and Supercharge Fat Loss.” I am not familiar with some of the ingredient in this book, but I know that in today’s culinary thrill-seeking world, you can get them.

Why do Incan diets work? The author will tell you all about it.
Good thing the following comes with a substitute.
“Inchi-Tella
2 tablespoons sachi inchi butter, or almond butter
2 tablespoons cacao powder
1 tablespoon agave syrup
3 teaspoons vanilla soy milk
Put all the ingredients in a food processor and pulse until smooth. Scrape down the sides with a rubber spatula and pulse for 30 seconds longer.
Darragh Doiron loves to try new things and share them with Port Arthur News readers.
